Download not working
If a visitor reports that their download link doesn’t work, here’s what’s usually going on.
Download links are single-use
For free files, Smart LeadLock issues a secure, single-use token per submission. Once that link has been used, it won’t work again, by design, to prevent the file from being shared freely outside the form. If a visitor lost their file, the correct fix is for them to resubmit the form to get a fresh link, not to re-share the old one.
Paid downloads work the same way
Paid files use their own secure download tokens tied to the order. If a buyer’s link has expired or already been used, resend it from Payments → Orders rather than troubleshooting the old link.
If the file itself won’t open
Confirm the original upload isn’t corrupted by downloading it yourself from Upload Files. If it opens fine there, the issue is link-related (see above), not the file.
