First file setup

Gating your first file takes two steps: upload it, then drop a shortcode wherever you want the download to appear.

1. Upload the file

Go to Smart LeadLock → Upload Files and upload your PDF, video, ZIP, or document. Each upload gets a unique ID, visible in the file list, which you’ll use in the shortcode.

2. Add the shortcode

Place the shortcode on any post or page:

[LeadLock] File not found.

This renders the default lead capture form. When a visitor submits it, they receive a secure, single-use download link, and a new lead record is created automatically.

3. Test it yourself

Before sharing the page publicly, submit the form yourself with a real email address and confirm the download link arrives and works. Check Smart LeadLock → Email Logs if it doesn’t show up within a minute or two.
