Delivery modes
Delivery mode decides how a lead receives a gated file after submitting the form. It is set under Settings → Email: Delivery → Delivery Mode and applies sitewide.
| Mode | What the lead gets | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Instant download | A download button on the success screen right away. | Frictionless, high-conversion offers where you do not need the email to be valid. |
| Email only | No button; the link is emailed to the address they entered. | Proving the email is real, which keeps your list clean. |
| Both (default) | A button on the screen and a copy by email. | Most sites: instant access and a backup in the inbox. |
What the success screen says
The message shown after submission comes from Settings → General → Success Message (default: “Your download is ready! Click the button below.”). If email is part of the mode, a “check your email” note is shown as well. Standalone forms have no file, so they never show a download button; they use the Standalone Forms Success Message instead.
Email-only and deliverability
With email-only delivery, a lead whose message lands in spam cannot get the file. Set up SMTP properly first (see SMTP setup) and consider mode Both until you are confident about delivery.
Link lifetime
Whichever mode you use, the link itself expires and works once. See Download links and expiry.
