Easy Digital Downloads add-on

The Easy Digital Downloads add-on listens to purchase events and hands each customer and event to AcquisitionSuite. It needs AcquisitionSuite Pro 3.7.0 or later with an active license and Easy Digital Downloads 3.0 or later. See Add-ons for installing it.

What happens to a purchase

AcquisitionSuite finds or creates the lead by email, tags it source:edd, updates the customer’s lifetime value, and runs your automation rules and email sequences.

Triggers

  • EDD: Purchase Completed
  • EDD: Order Refunded (each refund, including partial ones)
  • EDD: Order Failed
  • EDD: Order Revoked or Cancelled
  • EDD: Order Abandoned (an order still Pending after a set time)

Conditions

Rules can use the order total, download names and categories, discount codes, payment method, item count, the customer’s completed orders, their lifetime value, guest checkout, marketing consent and country.

Recovery emails

EDD already makes a signed link that puts a customer back where they stopped. Set up recovery emails creates a three-email sequence (an hour, a day and three days after the customer left) and the rules that start it for customers who agreed to marketing and stop it when the purchase is completed. In any sequence email you can use {recovery_url}, {cart_items}, {cart_total} and {first_name}.

A purchase is not consent to marketing. Under AcquisitionSuite → Add-ons → Easy Digital Downloads, choose how consent is known: not known, a tick box at checkout, an order field your own plugin saves, or every buyer. People are only added to your connected email service when they agreed.

Import past purchases

Import past purchases brings in customers from orders you already have, with their lifetime value, tagged “imported”. An import never contacts anyone.
