Customizing the pipeline
The pipeline (Pro) is a Kanban board of stages your leads move through on the way to becoming customers. This page covers customizing it. For an overview see Sales pipeline.
The default stages
A new install starts with a simple pipeline: New → Contacted → Qualified → Won / Lost. Every newly captured lead lands in the first stage.
Customizing stages
Nothing about the stage list is fixed. On the Pipeline screen you can:
- Add Stage for a new column
- Rename a stage by editing its Stage Name
- Recolor a stage so it stands out on the board
- Reorder stages by dragging
- Delete stages you do not use
- Mark a stage as Won or Lost so reports can tell outcomes apart
Moving leads
Drag a lead card from one column to another. Moves are recorded in the lead’s pipeline history.
Moving leads automatically
Use the Move to Pipeline Stage action in automation rules, for example to move a lead to Qualified when their score passes a threshold, or to Won when a payment succeeds. See Automation recipes.
Example custom pipeline
- New Enquiry
- Discovery Call Booked
- Proposal Sent
- Won (marked as Won)
- Not a Fit (marked as Lost)
Tips
- Keep it to five or six stages; more becomes hard to scan.
- Name stages after what happened, not what you plan to do.
- Review the Won and Lost columns weekly to learn what converts.
