Sequences not sending
A lead is enrolled in a sequence, but the next email never goes out (Pro).
1. Look at the Email Queue
Open Email Queue and find the enrollment. The status tells you where it is:
- Scheduled with a future time: it is simply not due yet
- Scheduled and overdue: WP-Cron has not run. Click Process Now
- Error: the send failed; check the message and Email Logs
- Paused or Stopped: the enrollment is no longer sending
2. Is cron running?
Sequences rely on WP-Cron, which only runs when the site receives visits. Quiet or heavily cached sites can fall behind. System Status shows the next scheduled run. See Cron events for setting up a real server cron.
3. Is Pro licensed and active?
If the license has lapsed, sequences pause. Check License. See License expiry and renewal.
4. Was the lead enrolled at all?
- The sequence’s trigger may not match: Any form, a specific form, or Automation only. An “Automation only” sequence needs an Enroll in Sequence action.
- A lead already in a sequence is not enrolled twice.
- Check the rule has Run once per lead ticked; the lead may have triggered it before.
5. Emails are sent but not received
That is a delivery problem, not a sequence problem. Check Email Logs, spam folders and SMTP setup.
6. Steps and delays
Each step’s delay counts from the previous step (or the enrollment for the first). A step set to 5 days after a 2-day step goes out on day 7.
