Download limits

Download limits stop a single lead from pulling the same file over and over.

Free files

Go to Settings → General → Download Behavior and set Free Download Limit: the maximum number of times one lead can download the same free file. The default is 0, which means unlimited. The limit is per lead per file, so a lead who hits the limit on one file can still download a different one.

Paid files ignore the free limit and use their own settings. On each paid file, Download Limit (0 = unlimited) and Download Expiry (hours) (0 = never expires) apply to the buyer. The defaults for new paid files are under Payment Settings → Defaults.

A limit counts downloads; expiry is how long each individual link lives. They work together. See Download links and expiry.

Tips

  • Leave free files unlimited unless you have a specific reason; the single-use link already prevents casual sharing.
  • For high-value paid files, set a sensible limit (for example 3 to 5) so a buyer can re-download after a device change but cannot resell the link.
