Managing gated files
Once files are uploaded, the Uploaded Files list on the Upload Files screen is your library.
What the list shows
- The file’s title and type, and whether it is an upload or an external URL
- The shortcode to place it on a page
- Row actions such as delete (Pro adds pricing and payment options to the row)
Replacing or updating a file
To swap in a new version, upload the new file with the same title, update your page to use the new shortcode, then delete the old one. If the file is an external URL, delete the entry and add it again with the new link.
Deleting a file
Deleting a file removes the stored file from the protected folder and the gated entry. Existing leads and submissions that referenced it are kept. Any page still using the old shortcode will show a “file not found” message until you update it.
Seeing what performs
Under Analytics, the Top Downloaded Files and Files Engaged views show which files attract the most leads, and, with Pro, Best Selling Files shows revenue by file. See Analytics.
Using one file in several places
The same shortcode can appear on as many pages as you like. Every submission is still recorded against the file and the form, so you can compare how each page performs by filtering leads by file.
