Glossary
Every term used in AcquisitionSuite and its documentation, in alphabetical order.
- Action
- The “then” part of an automation rule: send an email, add a tag, move a lead, call a webhook and so on.
- Automation rule
- An IF trigger, optional conditions, THEN actions rule that runs in the background after a lead event. Pro.
- Conditional logic
- Showing or hiding a form field depending on another answer. See Conditional logic.
- Delivery mode
- How a gated file reaches the lead: instant download, email only, or both. See Delivery modes.
- Display style
- How a standalone form appears: Embedded, Popup Modal, or (Pro) Floating Button.
- Double opt-in
- Requiring a new subscriber to confirm their email before joining your list. Supported for Mailchimp, Brevo and MailWizz.
- Email log
- A record of every email AcquisitionSuite sent or failed to send. See Email logs.
- Email queue
- The list of scheduled and sent sequence steps. Pro.
- Email sequence
- A series of timed emails sent automatically to an enrolled lead. Pro.
- ESP
- Email service provider such as Mailchimp, Brevo or MailWizz.
- Gated file
- A file (or external link) a visitor can only get after submitting a form.
- Grace period
- The 7 days Pro keeps working when the licensing server cannot be reached to re-validate your license. See License expiry and renewal.
- Honeypot
- A hidden form field that real visitors never fill in but bots often do, used to reject spam.
- Lead
- A person who submitted a form. One lead can have many submissions.
- Lead intelligence
- Country, region, city, device, browser and ISP detected for a lead. Pro.
- Lead score
- A running total of points that ranks how sales-ready a lead is. Pro.
- Lite
- The free AcquisitionSuite plugin from WordPress.org.
- Order
- A purchase of a paid file or paid form. Pro.
- Pipeline
- A Kanban board of stages (for example New, Contacted, Qualified, Won, Lost) that leads move through. Pro.
- Popup modal
- The overlay window containing the lead capture form.
- Pro
- The paid extension plugin that requires Lite.
- Segment
- A named group of leads applied by an automation rule. Pro.
- Shortcode
- Text such as
[acquis_download id="123"]that you paste into a page to display a form or download button. - Signed token
- The single-use, expiring key inside every download link. See Download links and expiry.
- Standalone form
- A form with no file attached, used for appointments, registrations or any lead capture.
- Submission
- One filled-in form, stored with every field value.
- Tag
- A label applied to a lead by an automation rule. Pro.
- Time-based rule
- An automation rule that runs on a schedule and checks each lead’s current data. Pro.
- Transaction
- A payment record from Stripe, Paystack or Flutterwave. Pro.
- Trigger
- The “when” part of an automation rule, for example Form Submit or Score Change.
- URL-gated file
- A gated file that points at an external link instead of an uploaded file. See URL-gated files.
- UTM parameters
- Tracking tags on a link (utm_source, utm_medium and so on) recorded against a lead. See UTM attribution.
- Webhook
- An HTTP call one system makes to another when something happens. AcquisitionSuite can send them (automation) and receive them (payment gateways). See Webhooks.
- WhatsApp notification
- A message sent to a lead or your team through the Meta Cloud API or Twilio. Pro.
