Download links and expiry
AcquisitionSuite never exposes a file’s real address. Each lead receives a one-off, signed download link that stops working on its own.
How a download link works
- The visitor submits the form.
- AcquisitionSuite creates a random signed token tied to that lead and file, with an expiry time.
- The link is shown on the success screen, emailed to the lead, or both, depending on your delivery mode.
- When the link is opened, the token is checked, the file is streamed, and the token is marked as used.
Single use
A token can be used once. Opening the same link a second time shows an expired-link message. This is deliberate: it stops links being shared around. A lead who needs the file again can simply submit the form again. See Download not working.
Link expiry
Under Settings → General → Download Behavior, Link Expiry sets how long a generated link stays valid after the form is submitted. The value is in minutes; the maximum is 10,080 (7 days). A new install starts at 30 minutes. Choose a longer window if you email links and leads often open them later.
Free download limit
Free Download Limit caps how many times a single lead can download the same free file. Set it to 0 (the default) for unlimited. See Download limits.
Housekeeping
Expired and used tokens are cleaned out automatically by a daily background task, so the tokens table does not grow forever.
Paid files
Paid files (Pro) use their own expiry and download limit, set per file with defaults under Payment Settings. See Paid downloads.
