WhatsApp setup
Pro can send WhatsApp messages to leads or to your own team from automation rules. Connect a provider first, then use the Send WhatsApp action.
Choose a provider
Go to Integrations → WhatsApp Notifications and choose one:
WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta direct)
- Phone Number ID: from your Meta app dashboard, under WhatsApp → API Setup
- Access Token: a permanent token from the same Meta dashboard
Twilio
- Account SID and Auth Token from your Twilio console
- From Number: your WhatsApp-enabled Twilio number
Test the connection
Enter a phone number and send a test message. A successful test shows “Test message sent! Check the device.” If it fails, you will see “Send failed. Check your provider credentials in settings.”
Sending from automation
- Create or edit a rule under Automation.
- Add the Send WhatsApp action and write the message. You can use lead tags such as the lead’s name.
- Save. The rule now messages the lead’s phone number when it fires.
The lead needs a phone number on their record, so include a phone field in your form. See Field types.
Good to know
- WhatsApp has its own rules on who you may message and when, especially outside a 24-hour conversation window. Follow Meta’s and Twilio’s policies, and only message people who opted in.
- Messages sent to someone who has not opted in can get your number restricted.
- A fast acknowledgement right after a form submit is a popular use. See Automation recipes.
