Uninstall and data deletion

You decide what happens to your data if you remove AcquisitionSuite.

The default: keep everything

By default, deleting the plugin from WordPress leaves your leads, forms, submissions, files, email logs and settings in the database. Reinstalling later picks up where you left off. This is also why you can safely switch between plugin versions.

Removing everything

To wipe all plugin data on uninstall, go to Settings → General → Data Deletion on Uninstall and tick Permanently delete all plugin data when the plugin is deleted, then save. When you later delete the plugin (not just deactivate it), everything is removed. This cannot be undone, so export first (see Exporting data).

Deactivate vs delete

  • Deactivate: turns the plugin off. Nothing is removed. Gated files stop being served while it is off.
  • Delete: removes the plugin files. Data is only removed if you enabled the option above.

Lite and Pro

Pro depends on Lite. Deactivating Lite while Pro is active disables Pro’s features, so deactivate Pro first if you are removing both. The uninstall option applies to the data both plugins store.

Before you remove it

  1. Export leads and submissions.
  2. Download any files you have uploaded if you need copies (they live in wp-content/uploads/acquis-protected/).
  3. Replace shortcodes on your pages, or they will show as plain text.
  4. Take a site backup.
